About our leather: quality leather is only lightly processed and retains the scars and blemishes of the original hide. Quality leather also matures as you use it. Depth where you can sit cross-legged
The depth of the seat is 60cm.
It becomes deeper when the lumbar cushion is removed. The depth of the seat is deep enough for you to sit comfortably even if you are sitting on the seat.
The slightly angled seat surface provides a better fit when sitting. -
Moist and hard seat cushion
The seat cushion is slightly firmer.
It is composed of urethane and feathers, but by adding a lot of feathers, it has a hard but moist seating comfort. -
Waist cushion that can be used freely
When you sit down, the lumbar cushion fills the gap between the back cushion and your body, supporting you.
It can be used as an elbow rest when reading a book, and by placing a waist cushion on the wooden elbow, it is also useful for diagonal sitting where you can lean on the elbow. -

It all started with a customer's special order
The design base of ZEN was the "AVENUE" sofa.
For that sofa, we received several requests a year for a special order with a 10cm deeper depth.
Curious, I asked the customer and was told that he was sitting on the floor and using the sofa as a backrest.
As we asked the reason for this, we found a need to "sit cross-legged. -
"Can you really sell a sofa this deep?"
Then, we decided to create a sofa with the concept of "climb up on the wide seat and relax".
When we presented the prototype at an exhibition, retailers reacted unfavorably, saying, "We can't sell a sofa this deep," or "We can't handle it because it's not comfortable. -
Struggled to achieve comfortable seating
Still, there is a need for customers, so it should sell.
We researched adding a lumbar cushion and making the seat harder, trying to make it somehow more comfortable.
The lumbar cushion can be attached or detached to allow for relaxation in any sitting position. -
The Japanese way of sitting
A customer who had been using it for some time told me, "Japanese are a culture that sits on the floor, so they like to sit cross-legged.
Ergonomic design is good, but sofas that suit the Japanese sitting style are also good.
Sofas fulfill their role by sitting people on them.
There are many ways to sit.It was the development of this sofa that taught me this.
