寝返りができるほどの奥行き。寝転んだり、時には座ったりとソファの上で自由に体の向きを変えられる広さです。リビングで布団の上のようにゴロゴロと寝転びたい人へ作ったソファです。

座面の奥行きの深さは80cm。ソファの上で胡座や、横座りしても余るほどの奥行き。小さい子さんとなら横ならびにお昼寝でき深い奥行きです。

座った時にバフッと感じる、柔らかいフェザー特有の座り心地。座クッションのベースはウレタンですが、その上にフェザーがたっぷり入っています。お布団の上で、ゴロゴロと寝転び、くつろいでいるような、柔らかいクッションです。

私、ソファで寝るのが好きなんです
2つ隣の町で教師をしているお客さんから「仕事と家事を終えて、ソファで寝落ちするのが至福のひととき」なので、寝心地よいソファを探していると相談されました。 そう言われてみると、自分自身もそうでした。笑 そうして、座り心地より寝心地というソファを作ることになりました。

パートナーショップと一緒に考える
ちょうどその頃、滋賀県のインテリアショップからも奥行きの深いソファを作って欲しいという要望があり、開発に協力してもらえることになりました。 フェザーをたっぷり入れて、布団のようにふわふわとした広い座面のソファを試作し、お客さんの感想を聞いてもらいながら開発を進めることができました。

常識を否定する
普通のソファでは、座った時に腰を支えるような奥行きで設計します。また、座面には角度を付けて、お尻が前に滑り出ないようにします。 しかし、今回は「寝心地」を重視するため、座ると届かないほど遠くにある背もたれと、水平な座面の角度です。 もはやソファというよりもベッドですね。

実際の暮らしで使われるソファを
こうして生まれたライフソファは、期待以上の好評を得ることができました。 昔のように応接間で大切な来客をもてなすことは、今ではほとんどなくなりました。 それよりも家族が一緒に寝転んでリラックスできる時間を過ごすほうが、ソファは活躍してくれますね。
